Online portal is designed for providing the reliable, user-friendly, comprehensive and the one-stop source for obtaining the Passport. Citizen of India can access the official website to apply for a passport or related service. All the Indian citizens who like to depart from India is required to have the valid travel document or passport. The Government of India issues different types of passports as well as travel documents like Ordinary Passport, Official Passport, Diplomatic Passport, Emergency Certificate, Certificate of Identity and many others under the Passports Act 1967. Prescribed Passport application must be duly filled with the prescribed documents. Approval of the Passport requires the request/requisition for a passport, supporting documents, and many other procedures. Supporting documents required for the passport application includes

How to Apply for Passport Online

Applying for Passport becomes much more easier and you can follow the instructions below:

  • Register in the Passport Seva Online Portal (PSK) or click
  • Click on “Register Now” on Home Page
  • Login to the Passport Seva Online Portal using Registered Login Id
  • Click the “Apply for Fresh Passport/Re-issue of Passport”
  • Fill in required details in the form
  • Click “Submit” button
  • Open the “View Saved/Submitted Applications” screen
  • Click “Pay and Schedule Appointment” link
  • Schedule an appointment
  • Online Payment is mandatory to book for the appointments at Passport Offices or Passport Seva Kendras. Online Payment mode is using the following modes:
    • Credit/Debit Card – MasterCard and Visa
    • Internet Banking – State Bank of India and Associate Banks and many other Banks
  • Click “Print Application Receipt” link
  • Print online application receipt with the Application Reference Number (ARN) or the Appointment Number
  • Visit Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) or the Regional Passport Office (RPO) appointment will be booked along the original documents

Emergency, medical cases or the preapproved categories could visit the Passport Seva Kendra without any appointment. Complete service will be provided by Passport Seva Kendra in-charge or Passport Officer. Resubmission of the application form is required when the applicant does not visit Passport Seva Kendra from online form submission within 90 days.
